KTZ8864 4-Channel LED Backlight Driver

Kinetic Technologies KTZ8864 4-Channel LED Backlight Driver is a multifunction Power Management IC (PMIC) that combines a 4-channel, high-efficiency step-up LED backlight driver with a dual output LCD bias power regulator into a compact, space-saving small package. Kinetic KTZ8864 integrates a step-up converter for LED backlighting, a step-up converter with LDO, and an inverting charge pump for LCD bias power. This results in a simpler and smaller solution with fewer external components. The high switching frequency of the KTZ8864 allows the use of a smaller inductor and capacitor. The input operating range of this device is from 2.7V to 5.5V, making it ideal for mobile, battery-powered applications.

IS32LT3175N/P Single-Channel Linear LED Drivers

ISSI IS32LT3175N/P Single-Channel Linear LED Drivers come with fade in/out and PWM dimming. The regulators serve as a stand-alone LED driver-configurable from 20mA to 150mA with external resistors, no microcontroller is necessary. A logic level “courtesy light” signal from the PWM pin can be interfaced to precisely drive the LED channel. The IS32LT3175P obtains a positive polarity PWM signal. In addition, the IS32LT3175N obtains a negative polarity PWM signal. The regulator integrates a 63-step fade-in and fades out the algorithm (Gamma correction). This causes the output LED current to increasingly rise up to the full source value after the EN pin is pulsed.
