EV Charging Applications

Cornell Dubilier (CDE) Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Applications feature high-performance capacitors, which are essential for EV chargers. Capacitors are critical components used in inverters and converters for EV charging stations, including solar-powered Levels 1 and 2 as well as the fast-charging Level 3. The CDE capacitor lineup for EV charging applications includes power film DC Link, screw-terminal and snap-in types, IGBT snubber modules, and AC harmonic filter capacitors.

DSF 3V Supercapacitors

Cornell Dubilier / Knowles (CDE) DSF 3V Supercapacitors are high-voltage capacitors with fast charge and discharge, high power density, and low equivalent series resistance (ESR). The series operates over a -40°C to 85°C temperature range and has a lifetime of 1000 hours with rated voltage applied at +65°C. CDE DSF 3V Supercapacitors offer a 1.2F to 600F capacitance range and are ideal for use in battery backup and alternative applications, as well as pulse power, energy harvesting, LED displays, mechanical actuators, and audio systems.

Supercapacitors

Cornell Dubilier (CDE) Supercapacitors are also known as ultracapacitors, double-layer capacitors, or electro-chemical double layer capacitors (EDLC). These supercapacitors offer a comprehensive range of capacitance values and voltages. The utilized CDE technology is used in various applications, from battery backup in smart meters to regenerative braking. Ranging from board-mountable coin types to radial form factors, these supercapacitors provide high-voltage modules with active or passive balancing. CDE Supercapacitors are ideal for wind turbines, mass transit, hybrid cars, consumer electronics, and industrial equipment applications.
