NXP Semiconductors FRDM Automotive Development Platforms

NXP Semiconductor FRDM Automotive Development Platforms are a fast-prototyping ecosystem built for the next era of mobility. It brings together automotive-grade hardware and software to deliver secure, safe, and accelerated development for a broad range of applications—from vehicles and drones to robotics and aerospace. Based on NXP’s proven S32 automotive processing platform, the FRDM Automotive boards offer a cost-effective, compact, and scalable path from concept to production.

The platform currently includes development boards spanning the S32K1, S32K3, and S32M2 MCU families, enabling evaluation across general-purpose automotive, functional safety, and motor control use cases. Each board features USB Type-C® power delivery, on-board CAN FD and LIN transceivers, Arduino®-compatible headers for expansion, and full support for NXP’s ISO 26262 ASIL D-compliant Real-Time Drivers (RTD) and AUTOSAR software stacks.
