Die STMicroelectronics BlueNRG-MS Bluetooth® Smart Netzwerkprozessoren haben einen geringen Stromverbrauch und sind ideal für Knopfzellen-betriebene Bluetooth-Smart-Geräteanwendungen. Diese Prozessoren eignen sich hervorragend für Bluetooth-Anwendungen, die über Monate oder sogar Jahre betrieben werden. Der BlueNRG-MS betreibt die eingebetteten Niedrigenergie-Bluetooth-Protokoll-Stacks GAP, GATT, SM, L2CAP, LL und RF-PHY auf dem integrierten Cortex®-M0-Kern. Der BlueNRG-MS ist über eine proprietäre SPI-basierte Schnittstelle mit einem Host-Mikrocontroller, der die Anwendung ausführt, verbunden.

The BlueNRG-MS supports master and slave roles and can operate as central (managing up to 8 peripherals) or peripheral device without any change in the firmware. The Bluetooth profiles are provided separately and meant to run in the host MCU.
